Roma Active Albania

Regarding 2 of August Roma Active Albania on 24 of July has open a call for an online campaign for former participants to share their experience during their visit in Auschwitz and also to share messages to other people . 

Through this online campaign we wanted  to share with other young people their  experience and to commemorate the 2 of August. Former participants recorded themselves on one minute video  and shared their experience during the visit in concentration camps . The Regional Roma Educational Youth Association

The Regional Roma Educational Youth Association from 27.07 to 02.08. 2020 held an online campaign on the occasion of the Roma genocide. The campaign was conducted by posting on social networks on the following topics:

Also in Macedonia part of the state events on the occasion Roma Holocaust Memorial Day, The president of North Macedona –  President Stevo Pendarovski addressed the Holocaust against the Sinti and Roma.

For the first time since the event was organized, there was a senior state official who addressed the official commemoration.

Serbian Roma Youth Association

On the occasion of 2. August – European Holocaust Memorial Day for Sinti and Roma, Serbian Roma Youth Association issued the statement urging Serbian authorities to officially declare this date as Remembrance Day for Roma victims of genocide during World War II. We also called on the relevant ministries to include the history of Roma and their suffering in the school curriculum. During commemoration event in Belgrade we organize short history presentation of Topovske šupe camp as well as current situation and our activities to save this place from the demolition that was announced.

Nevo Parudimos

Nevo Parudimos commemorated August 2nd  with a live streaming on the project’s Facebook page.
